Pesticide Eco-Alternatives Centre (PEAC), created in 2002, is a non-profit and non-governmental organization. It is dedicated to the collection, extension and advancement of ecological alternative forms of pest control, elimination of chemical pesticides and development of ecological and organic agriculture, so as to protect both human and environmental health and further promote sustainable development.
Just as exposure to chemical pesticides is very harmful to human health, the overuse of pesticides induces biodiversity loss and environmental pollution. China has a large impact in terms of both production and consumption. The environmental and health problems caused by chemical pesticides pose a big challenge to sustainability of socio-economic development.
We think that use of chemical pesticides is related not only to pest control technology, but also to social, economic and ethical factors. We believe in the power of thinking and acting. Therefore, we dedicated to changing awareness and attitudes toward chemical pesticides and facilitating others to take action in eliminating chemical pesticides.
